Northern Pacific LEGACY F3AA #6501A
*PLEASE NOTE THAT ART PICTURED ABOVE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
The Northern Pacific upgraded its premier North Coast Limited with new lightweight cars in 1947. In 1954, they added vista dome seating and the popular "Lewis and Clark Traveler’s Lounge" cars. Several of the cars were owned by the CB&Q and SP&S, which carried the train over part of the route. These had the owner's initials on the car but still wore the Northern Pacific name and a two-tone green color scheme to match the rest of the consist. With the lengthy route, the Northern Pacific needed five complete consists to provide daily service and the train often grew to more than 10 cars in length, especially during peak travel seasons. With a matched set of F units up front, the North Coast Limited was as handsome a train as the mountain scenery through which it passed. The seven cars offered here are typical for the train from 1954 through the 1960s. We've had many requests over the years to add it to the Lionel catalog. Your wait is finally over!
