New York Central LEGACY Atlantic #989
*PLEASE NOTE THAT ART PICTURED ABOVE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Atlantics might not have been the most famous of New York Central's steam locomotive fleet today, but in their own time they were a sight to behold. Before the steel car era, the Central's Atlantics handled premier trains, including the 20th Century. Even after trains and power grew larger, thanks to that "water level route" the Atlantics were still well suited to a wide variety of secondary and smaller trains including commuter trains and milk runs. Engine 989 shows off an amazing lighting array with a large headlight surrounded by marker and class lamps. It certainly would make a grand display marching into town with the daily milk run! Our latest Atlantic would look perfectly at home hauling later steel cars or the wood equipment also presented here. One of the two packs includes some of the famous "white mail" cars of the late 1800s - a fantastic marketing move by the railroad. Whether you're building up the Fast Mail or just want a couple of cars to fill out the local or milk run, these beautiful models will help bring back the best years of New York Central service.
