The U30C was GE's counter to the SD40 and although they lagged in sales to the competition, the U30C found a home on many railroads. U30Cs could be found hauling a variety of freight, but their most common role was heavy coal drag service from the mines of Appalachia and the Powder River Basin.Back in the Lionel catalog, this new run of U30Cs features some of the most common paint schemes from the 1970s and 80s.
