Southern End Door Boxcar #42000
*PLEASE NOTE THAT ART PICTURED ABOVE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
Equipped for hauling automobiles or otherlarge loads, end door boxcars offered arailroad’s customers more versatility in loadingor unloading. Cars of this design were relativelycommon from the 1930s to the 1960s whenlarger cars and multi-level auto-racks cameonto the scene. Cars only had doors at oneend and often had to be turned for loadingor unloading - an extra challenge for modelrailroad operations.
